O Avi, let that be said of me.
Cause my worth to be far above rubies.
Let my family and friends put their confidence in me,
and lack no good thing.
Help me, always, to be good to them all the days of my life.
Help me to see what needs to be done
and set my hands to do it with a will.
Prepare me, if need be, to rise while it is yet night
to supply provisions for my household.
Gird me, Father, with the strength to perform my tasks with vigor.
Remind me to give generously to the poor
and stretch out my hand to the needy.
I will not be concerned about the weather for
I will make sure I am properly attired.
I will clothe myself with the beauty of your reflection.
I will look to the future cheerfully.
Fill my mouth, Lord, with wisdom
and my tongue with kindly teaching.
I want to oversee the activities of my household
without eating the bread of idleness, so that
I can be a blessing and my family will have reason to praise me.
Many women have done well –
Let me be counted among them.
Knowing that charm is deceptive and beauty is an illusion,
I realize it is only for my respect and love for you
that I should be praised. I give that praise and all that I am
