Trust YHWH in the Storm
|
|
Read - Psalm 107 I faced bad times coming and realized I am walking straight ahead into a storm. I seen the dark clouds gathering, heard the thunder growling and the lightning flashed like heavy whiplashes. Instead of listening to the signals, I got hypnotized by the false illusions in my mind that there is no way out and nowhere to return. Instead of remaining calm, trust and have confidence that things will work out fine, the first thing we do when we in a dangerous storm is to panic. After exhausting oneself you slowly but surely stop kicking and your heart rate return to normal. Only then you start thinking normally again. During this time I realized that I am going through a faith test. The option is to either sink or trust. Hold on or let go. Whether it is easy or difficult to trust YHWH, you acknowledge that your survival depends on Him. You can’t do anything without Him. He is the only life-guard you have. Our security comes from YHWH. It is not at all dependent on what is going on around us. Whether it is the economy recession, our businesses, our finances, our children, our marriages, we should trust YHWH with all of it. We should not just depend or trust in YHWH in the midst of bad circumstances. Storms are unpredictable but if we place our trust in Him, we can rise higher than any storm and walk on the water in faith. Good circumstances are only an illusion of security whereas bad circumstances are only an illusion of a lack of security. Sometimes we need to be shaken a bit before we realize that there is no such time as less dependent on YHWH. I realized how insecure “good circumstances” really are; because that is the time we “think” we are less dependent on YHWH. The moment circumstances “look” better we intend to trust ourselves more and trusting a bit less in YHWH. After all then circumstances weren’t requiring as much faith. It reminds me of Yeshua sleeping on the boat during the middle of the storm. He said, “let us go to the other side.” But yet when things started looking bad enough, they started to doubt that would happen. When they finally were freaking out enough, they woke him up and frustrated with their lack of faith, he told the storm to calm down. They just didn’t get it. They didn’t realize who Yeshua was. They didn’t realize that it didn’t matter how bad it got, He was there with them. The truth is, no matter how bad things looked, they really were no more insecure. They had YHWH in the flesh on the boat with them! How could they really think that they wouldn’t make it? It is no different for us today. We have the promise of YHWH that He will never leave us, nor forsake us. It doesn’t matter how bad things look, it is merely an illusion. Don’t be deceived by the storm but be aware of the signals and when you in the midst of that storm trust in YHWH. It might take a while before you reach the shore, but don’t be hasty enjoy the special time with Him that creates wonders through every difficult situation. Trusting YHWH brings peace and peace gives you secure confidence that you will reach the other side. YHWH will come through NO matter what! When things are going good or bad we must praise YHWH, knowingly that He is in control of every storm. |
