The Power of Joy!
Psalm 118:24
Eliza Bezuidenhout

Follow the footsteps of Yeshua!

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Have you ever considered or gave it thought of how much power is within Joy! The human wisdom lacks the ability to insert the greatest positive into life. What makes the human heart sing is the greatest pleasure of joy, qualities of love, truth and peace?  Whenever you lose the ability to any of these, you feel powerless. How wonderful is it to wake up in the morning with joy in your heart.

Everyone has faced a troubled time in their life at some stage.  Joy adds a sense of fullness to you. Notice how laughter and joy empowers you.  Many people have no power because they strive after the joys of the world instead of having joy from G-D.

Satan wants to rob you of this incredible, G-D given treasure, and he'll do everything in his power to steal it away, making your bitter experience much worse. Yeshua said in John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly". Satan is out to steal your joy through your bitter experience. Whether his attack comes in the form of despair, or just an annoying irritation, he's not going to let you keep your joy without a fight. Satan is quite aware of the fact of how much power lies within joy!
If joy was a guaranteed product of salvation, then every believer would be rejoicing all the time. But that's not the case. So where does that leave us? Obvious conclusion of a disposition of joy must be cultivated and clung to, in spite of every attempt of the enemy to snatch it away.
Once you realize that your joy is rooted in G-D, you will notice the change in your life.  Your joy is not dependent upon circumstances but dependent upon G-D and He never fails!   Satan love to get you frustrated and tense because he knows that that is the path to stealing your joy. Be careful of overworking yourself. King Solomon, in Proverbs 23:4, said "Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease!" Don't think that by getting yourself too busy you will get your bitter experiences turned into catalysts for your successes. Wrong priorities can rob you of joy.
Throughout the bible we are encouraged to be joyful within the Lord. What greater assurance can we obtain from the bible like the following scriptures? Psalm 37:4 reads: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore”Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Jeremiah 15:16 “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, G-D of hosts. “

2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”  G-D's grace is sufficient for us. Grace in general terms is "favor." It is what G-D favors us with, what He gives to us. It can include spiritual gifts or physical things that He provides. By His grace, we have food to eat every day, we have clothes to wear, and we have a roof over our heads or cars to drive.
Don’t allow Satan to steal away your joy. Before you get out of bed every morning, remind yourself that G-D has made this day for you to enjoy. True joy comes from recognizing the power within each one of us to make this life a happy one despite our trials.

Joy unspeakable and full of glory!  Psalm 68:8 says, "G-D places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them JOY".  I pray that G-D's great joy would overtake you in everything you do today.  And that you would be so full of joy, it would rub off on everyone you come in contact with!

Have a joyful day and remember to thank G-D for it!
